Company Housing
Teachers rent an apartment from the company, which are usually adjoined with the teacher’s main classroom. The company secures the apartments (we pay for any key money and apartment deposit), and the teacher is responsible for the initial damage deposit (which is returned on departure if the apartment is left undamaged), monthly rent and utility costs. All company apartments are supplied with basic furnishings (including a stove, refrigerator, washing machine, air conditioning unit, cooking utensils, dishes, cutlery, etc) and the apartments are situated near a train station. Apartment in Japan may be smaller than what foreigners are used to, but most of our teachers find them quite adequate.
